We keep a small house. Each piece is studied before it is offered — its mark read, its pattern placed, its condition told plainly.
Cupsicum began as a private shelf: a family of cups that had outlived three generations of tables. The shelf grew into a study, the study into this house. We buy fewer pieces than we are offered, and we sell only what we would keep.
Every object is examined under raking light and UV, its marks read against the factory records, its condition described plainly — chips, hairlines and honest repairs included. What we cannot attribute, we say so.
The Encyclopedia is our working library made public: the makers, patterns and backstamps we consult daily, cross-linked with the pieces that pass through the house.
